Moving on from our Improvers groups Development Squad is the first of the clubs competitive squads. Swimmers Must hold Swim England Stage 8 and are subject to a swim test / assessment by the club's coaches to enter this group.

The aims of this group are to move swimmers from a teaching background into coached competitive swimming and training. Swimmers in this group are able to enter Eastbourne Swimming Club Championship events, and be selected to represent the club at competitions and Open Meets.

Swimmers are expected to be training two / three times per week to maintain their place within the Development Squad.

The end goal for Development Squad is to have reached selection for the clubs teams, entered and swum at Open Meets, competed at Club Championships and have competitive swim times shown on Swim England Rankings. Once achieved the coaches will assess each swim for movement to Junior Squad the next competitive squad.
